Quad SPST-NO analog switch for precision signal routing
The Maxim MAX4712ESE+ is a quad single-pole single-throw normally-open (SPST-NO) analog switch in a 16-SOIC package. Each of the four independent switches handles rail-to-rail analog signals with a maximum on-resistance of 25 ohm, making it suitable for multiplexing audio, instrumentation, or low-frequency sensor signals where insertion loss and linearity matter. The switch operates from a single supply of 2.7 V to 11 V or from dual supplies of ±2.7 V to ±5.5 V, giving flexibility for single-rail or bipolar signal chains. Switching times are 125 ns turn-on and 80 ns turn-off, fast enough for sample-and-hold front ends and audio crosspoint applications. Crosstalk between channels is -87 dB at 1 MHz. Charge injection is 25 pC.
On-resistance matching and leakage
Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is 200 milliohm max, so the gain error across parallel paths stays tight without individual calibration. Off-leakage is 500 pA max per switch, which keeps the voltage error negligible even with 1 M ohm source impedance. Channel capacitance is 8 pF on both source and drain sides.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, the MAX4712ESE+ is suited for outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor sensor multiplexing, and automotive cabin electronics where the ambient stays below 85°C.
Sourcing and lifecycle
For BOM planning, this part is a stable, non-obsolete line item that can be specified into new designs without a substitution risk.
