Four SPDT channels in a single TSSOP-16
The MAX4702EUE+ packs four independent SPDT switches into a 16-pin TSSOP, each switch routing a common pole to one of two throws with a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer topology. On-resistance is 75 Ohm max, with channel-to-channel matching of 2 Ohm — tight enough that gain errors across paths stay within a few percent in precision analog front-ends.
Signal integrity at 250 MHz bandwidth
The -3 dB bandwidth of 250 MHz means this switch passes high-speed video or IF signals without rolling off amplitude — the 35 ns turn-on and 20 ns turn-off keep settling times short enough for multiplexed data acquisition. Crosstalk is -79 dB at 1 MHz, so a signal on one channel couples into an adjacent channel at roughly 0.01% — negligible for 12-bit systems and workable for 14-bit with careful layout. Charge injection is 0.5 pC typical — the glitch when switching between channels is small enough that sample-and-hold droop in a 16-bit ADC front-end stays under 1 LSB if the hold cap is sized above 100 pF.
Supply flexibility and leakage
Off-state leakage is 500 pA max at 85°C — the leakage floor is low enough that a 10 MOhm input impedance buffer sees less than 5 mV of offset from the switch alone. Channel capacitance is 8 pF per port (CS(off) and CD(off)), which together with the 75 Ohm on-resistance forms an RC roll-off at roughly 265 MHz — consistent with the 250 MHz bandwidth spec.
Package and rework considerations
Housed in a 16-TSSOP with 0.65 mm pitch and 4.4 mm body width — the 0.173-inch lead spacing is standard for TSSOP-16 and reflows cleanly with a typical hot-air profile at 260°C peak.
Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, covering industrial and telecom environments without needing a commercial-grade workaround.
