2.5-Ohm on-resistance and 300 pC charge injection
The MAX4663CAE+T: This low R_on minimizes signal attenuation and voltage drop in the pass-band, making it suited for precision analog switching where the series resistance would otherwise unbalance a divider or load a reference. Charge injection is 300 pC typical. For a sample-and-hold front-end or a DAC output multiplexer, that figure sets the voltage error injected onto the hold capacitor each time the switch toggles — budget it against the system's LSB resolution.
275 ns / 175 ns switching and -59 dB crosstalk at 1 MHz
Turn-on time is 275 ns max, turn-off 175 ns max. These propagation delays set the maximum multiplexing rate — a 275 ns window means the switch settles before the next channel is strobed, so the throughput ceiling is roughly 3.6 MHz in a round-robin scan. Channel-to-channel crosstalk is -59 dB at 1 MHz. In a multi-channel data-acquisition system, that isolation means a full-scale 1 MHz signal on one channel bleeds about 1 mV into an adjacent channel — enough to matter in a 12-bit system but manageable in 10-bit or audio-band designs. Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is 100 mOhm max. When the switch is used in a gain-setting or divider network, the mismatch between channels contributes a gain error — 100 mOhm on a 2.5 Ohm base is 4% matching, acceptable for most instrumentation but worth derating in a precision bridge application.
This wide range covers common analog rails: ±5 V, ±12 V, ±15 V for dual supplies, or 5 V, 12 V, 24 V for single-supply systems. The dual-supply mode lets the switch pass bipolar signals without a DC bias network. Package is 16-SSOP (0.209", 5.30 mm width) with a surface-mount footprint. The 0.025-inch pin pitch demands standard PCB fabrication — no via-in-pad or micro-via needed for routing the four independent SPST channels. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C ambient. This commercial grade limits deployment to controlled indoor environments — office equipment, test bench instrumentation, or telecom racks — not engine bays or outdoor enclosures.
