What this quad SPST-NO switch brings to the bench
The Maxim Integrated MAX4662CWE+ is a quad single-pole single-throw normally-open (SPST-NO) analog switch in a 16-SOIC package. Each of the four independent switches presents a maximum on-resistance of 2.5 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 100 mOhm — tight enough that a multiplexed signal path won't show a level shift when you switch between channels. The switch topology is 1:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer, so each channel is a straight pass gate. Supply flexibility is a strong suit: single rail from 4.5V to 36V, or dual supplies from ±4.5V to ±20V. That covers everything from a 5V logic-level signal chain up to ±15V audio rails or a 24V industrial sensor bus. The charge injection is 300 pC, which matters if you're switching into a high-impedance sample-and-hold — you'll want to budget the settling time. Switching speed is respectable: 275 ns turn-on, 175 ns turn-off max. Off-leakage is spec'd at 500 pA maximum, and off-channel capacitance is 55 pF on both sides. The crosstalk figure of -59 dB at 1 MHz tells you this part can handle multiplexed analog signals in the audio band without audible bleed-through between channels.
Temperature grade and where it fits
The operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C — commercial grade. That means this switch is at home in bench instruments, audio gear, office equipment, and indoor control panels. It is not rated for the engine bay, a rooftop telecom cabinet in Phoenix, or a freezer warehouse. If your BOM calls for industrial or automotive temp, you're looking at the wrong suffix in the MAX466x family.
Sourcing and lifecycle reality
The MAX4662CWE+ carries an Active product status and is ROHS3 compliant.
