Quad SPST switch with 2.5 Ohm Ron and 275 ns switching
The MAX4662CAE+ from Analog Devices is a quad single-pole single-throw (SPST) normally-open analog switch, packaged in a 16-lead SSOP (0.209", 5.30 mm width) for surface-mount assembly. Switching is fast: turn-on time is 275 ns max, turn-off 175 ns max, so the part can route audio or low-speed data paths without introducing noticeable settling delay. Off-isolation is specified as crosstalk at -59 dB at 1 MHz, meaning a signal on one closed channel bleeds into an adjacent open channel at roughly 1/1000 of its amplitude — adequate for 8- to 10-bit precision multiplexing.
Supply flexibility and charge injection
Charge injection is rated at 300 pC — the amount of charge dumped onto the load when the switch opens or closes. For a sample-and-hold capacitor of 10 nF, that translates to a 30 mV glitch; designers should account for this in high-impedance or precision sampling paths. Off-leakage current is a maximum 500 pA, keeping signal droop negligible over long hold periods. Channel capacitance is 55 pF on both the source and drain sides, which together with the 2.5 Ohm on-resistance forms a low-pass corner around 1.2 MHz — consistent with the -59 dB crosstalk spec at 1 MHz. The 0°C to 70°C temperature grade suits controlled indoor environments, not extended industrial or automotive under-hood use.
