The MAX4638ETE+: Maximum on-resistance is 3.5 ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 100 milliohm — this keeps insertion loss uniform across all eight inputs and simplifies gain calibration in the downstream ADC path.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Turn-on time is 18 ns maximum, turn-off is 7 ns — fast enough to scan eight channels at several MHz without dead time between samples. Crosstalk is -85 dB at 1 MHz, so a 3 Vpp signal on an adjacent channel bleeds less than 170 µV into the active path — relevant for 12-bit+ systems where LSB noise budgets are tight. Charge injection is 13 pC typical, which translates to a voltage glitch on the sampling capacitor; the 9 pF source-off / 40 pF drain-off capacitance helps settle that glitch before the ADC conversion starts. The -3 dB bandwidth is 50 MHz, so the mux passes signals well above the audio band and into low-end video without roll-off.
