Switch topology and signal integrity
The MAX4634EUB+ is a single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) analog switch that routes one common terminal to any of four independent I/O paths — a 4:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer configuration in a single 10-uMAX/uSOP package. On-resistance is 4 Ohm max, with channel-to-channel matching held to 100 mOhm, so the insertion loss and attenuation stay uniform across all four paths — important for maintaining gain flatness in analog signal chains. Crosstalk is -78 dB at 1 MHz, meaning the isolation between the selected channel and the off-channels is high enough to keep a 1 MHz signal on one path from coupling into another at a level that would corrupt a low-level sensor reading.
Switching speed and charge injection
Turn-on time is 18 ns max, turn-off 11 ns max — the switch settles fast enough to multiplex a 10 MHz analog signal without introducing a timing skew that would alias the sampled data. Charge injection is 2 pC typical, which limits the voltage glitch on the output when the switch transitions — for a 10 pF load capacitance, that injection produces roughly a 200 mV step, so the downstream ADC or amplifier must settle within its acquisition window.
Supplied in Tube packaging. The 10-uMAX/uSOP body is 3.00 mm wide, a common footprint that fits a standard MSOP-10 land pattern.
