The MAX4627EUK+T is a single-pole single-throw normally-open (SPST-NO) analog switch from Analog Devices, built for low-voltage signal routing where the on-resistance floor determines insertion loss. The 50 ns turn-on and 30 ns turn-off times (max) set the multiplexing ceiling: a 10 MHz switching rate is achievable with adequate dead-time margin between channels.

Charge injection and leakage for sample-and-hold accuracy

Charge injection is specified at 40 pC — this is the charge dumped onto the load when the switch turns off. In a sample-and-hold front end driving a 10 nF hold capacitor, 40 pC injects a 4 mV step; the designer must budget this into the acquisition settling time. Off-leakage current is 2 nA maximum at 25°C, doubling roughly every 10°C — at 85°C the 32 nA leakage into a 1 MOhm load creates a 32 mV offset error that can dominate the signal chain if not accounted for.

Industrial temperature grade and SOT-23-5 footprint

It is housed in a SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package — five pins, 2.9 mm × 1.3 mm footprint — suited for dense mixed-signal boards where every mm² of board area is allocated. The 65 pF source and drain off-capacitance is typical for this package class; it limits the -3 dB bandwidth to roughly 50 MHz into a 50 Ohm load, adequate for audio, sensor, and low-speed data paths.
