Dual SP4T analog switch – 10 Ohm Ron, -96 dB crosstalk
The MAX4618ESE+ is a dual SP4T analog switch with a 4:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer topology per circuit. Two independent SP4T switches sit inside the 16-SOIC package, each with a maximum on-resistance of 10 Ohms, channel-to-channel matching of 200 mOhms, and a break-before-make switching action. The switch operates from a single 2 V to 5.5 V supply. Signal isolation is strong: crosstalk measures -96 dB at 100 kHz, and off-leakage current is a maximum 1 nA. The -40°C to 85°C temperature range suits industrial control panels, data-acquisition front-ends, and telecom line cards. Charge injection is 3 pC, low enough for sample-and-hold stages.
On-resistance and signal integrity
The 10 Ohm max Ron sets the insertion loss floor for analog paths. The 200 mOhm channel-to-channel matching keeps gain errors consistent when the mux scans multiple sensors. For audio-frequency multiplexing, the -96 dB crosstalk at 100 kHz means adjacent channels stay clean. The 15 ns turn-on and 10 ns turn-off times give enough margin for fast muxed acquisition.
Lifecycle and sourcing
For new designs and production BOMs, this part does not carry a phase-out risk. It is ROHS3 compliant (lead-free).
