Dual SP4T analog switch for signal routing
The Maxim Integrated MAX4618CUE+ is a dual SP4T (single-pole, four-throw) analog switch in a 16-TSSOP package. Each of the two switch circuits routes one common pin to one of four independent I/O channels — a 4:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer topology. On-resistance is 10 ohm max, with channel-to-channel matching within 200 milliohm, so the insertion loss stays consistent across paths. The single supply rail runs from 2V to 5.5V, covering 3.3V and 5V logic systems without a separate negative rail. Switching is fast: 15 ns turn-on, 10 ns turn-off. Crosstalk between channels is -96 dB at 100 kHz, and off-leakage is 1 nA max — both specs matter when multiplexing precision analog signals like sensor outputs or audio lines. Charge injection is 3 pC, low enough to avoid noticeable glitch on sampled inputs. The part is rated for commercial temperature range, 0°C to 70°C, so it belongs in controlled indoor equipment — test gear, audio mixers, data-acquisition front-ends, or bench instruments.
10 ohm on-resistance — what it means for the signal path
The 10 ohm max on-resistance sets the series impedance the signal sees through the switch. The 200 milliohm channel matching keeps gain error between paths low.
Commercial temperature grade — deployment boundary
The 0°C to 70°C operating range limits this part to indoor, climate-controlled environments. The 16-TSSOP package is surface-mount, with ROHS3 compliant lead-free finish.
Sourcing and lifecycle
ROHS3 compliant. For production volumes, check whether the factory reel option (MAX4618CUE+T) is available for the same die.
