Dual SP4T switch with 10 Ohm Ron and 200 mOhm channel matching
The MAX4618CSE+ from Analog Devices is a dual single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) analog multiplexer/demultiplexer, integrating two independent 4:1 selector circuits in a single 16-SOIC package. Each switch path presents a maximum on-resistance of 10 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 200 mOhm, which keeps the insertion loss uniform across the four inputs of each multiplexer. Switching is fast: 15 ns typical turn-on and 10 ns turn-off, so the part handles multiplexing in high-speed analog or digital signal paths without adding significant propagation delay.
Signal integrity specs for analog routing
Crosstalk is rated at -96 dB at 100 kHz, meaning the signal leaking from one channel into an adjacent one is well below the noise floor of most 12-bit or 16-bit acquisition systems. This makes the part usable for low-level analog multiplexing without worrying about channel bleed corrupting the measurement. Charge injection is 3 pC typical — the charge dumped onto the signal line when the switch opens or closes. For a 10 kOhm source impedance, that translates to roughly 30 µV of glitch, which is negligible for most sensor front-ends. Off-leakage current is 1 nA maximum, and the channel capacitance measures 5 pF off (source) and 15 pF off (drain), so the RC time constant at the output node stays low even with multiple channels tied together.
