8:1 analog multiplexer — what it does and where it fits
The MAX4617EUE+ is an 8:1 single-ended CMOS analog multiplexer. It routes one of eight analog inputs to a common output, controlled by a three-bit address. Supply range is 2 V to 5.5 V single-supply only — no dual-supply operation, so it cannot directly handle ±5 V rails. For bipolar signals, you would need to bias the analog inputs to a mid-rail voltage or use a level-shifting stage. The 3 pC charge injection is moderate; for sample-and-hold or direct ADC drive, account for the settling transient in the acquisition window.
Package and temperature grade
Housed in a 16-TSSOP (4.4 mm width, 0.173" pitch), surface-mount only. The -40°C to +85°C operating range covers industrial and outdoor telecom enclosures, but not extended automotive under-hood environments. Off-leakage is 1 nA max per channel; the 5 pF source capacitance and 27 pF drain capacitance are modest, so RC settling at the output is manageable with a moderate impedance load.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The MAX4617EUE+ carries an Active lifecycle status with ROHS3 compliance.
