Quad SPST-NO switch with 70 MHz bandwidth
The MAX4614CSD+ is a quad single-pole single-throw normally-open analog switch from Analog Devices, packaged in a 14-SOIC surface-mount tube. Each switch conducts equally in both directions with a 1:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer circuit, making it suitable for audio, video, and data signal routing where isolation between channels matters. The -3 dB bandwidth of 70 MHz supports analog signals up to video frequencies, while crosstalk of -96 dB at 100 kHz keeps adjacent channels from bleeding into each other in precision multiplexing applications.
On-resistance, switching speed, and charge injection
Maximum on-state resistance is 10 Ohm with channel-to-channel matching of 200 mOhm, so the insertion loss across the four switches stays consistent — important for gain-matched signal chains. Switching times are 12 ns (turn-on) and 10 ns (turn-off) maximum, fast enough for multiplexing video sync pulses or high-speed data lines without introducing timing skew between channels. Charge injection of 6.5 pC and off-leakage current of 1 nA max mean the switch adds minimal glitch energy to sampled analog signals — relevant for sample-and-hold stages or precision ADC front-ends. Channel capacitance (both source-off and drain-off) is 5 pF, which combined with the 10 Ohm on-resistance gives a -3 dB pole around 318 MHz — the 70 MHz bandwidth is well within the RC-limited corner.
