Quad SPST analog switch for precision signal routing
The Maxim Integrated MAX4612ESD+ is a quad SPST analog switch with normally-open and normally-closed configurations per channel, packaged in a 14-SOIC. It routes analog or digital signals with a 300MHz -3dB bandwidth and -80dB crosstalk at 1MHz, making it suitable for audio, video, and low-level sensor multiplexing in industrial control and test equipment. The switch operates from a single 2V to 12V supply and handles rail-to-rail signals within that range.
Supply range and on-resistance — what they mean for your rail
The 2V to 12V single-supply range covers common 3.3V, 5V, and 12V logic and analog rails without needing a negative supply. Maximum on-resistance is 100Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching of 1Ohm — tight enough for gain-setting or attenuator networks where resistance mismatch would shift the ratio.
Switching speed and charge injection
Turn-on time is 65ns max, turn-off 28ns max, fast enough for 10 MHz+ clock multiplexing or sample-and-hold front ends. Charge injection is 1pC typical, low enough that glitch energy on the signal path stays under a few millivolts into a 10pF load — relevant for precision ADC drivers.
Leakage and capacitance at the switch node
Off-channel leakage is 100pA max, and channel capacitance is 16pF on both source and drain. That combination keeps the signal path high-impedance in the off state and limits capacitive loading to about 16pF per node — fine for most op-amp inputs and low-frequency analog buses.
Package and temperature grade
Housed in a 14-SOIC (0.154" body width, 3.90mm) with surface-mount termination. Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient operation, covering industrial and outdoor telecom enclosures. ROHS3 compliant.
