Signal-routing fit for multi-channel analog paths
The MAX4583EUE+ is a triple SPDT analog switch (2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer per circuit) from Analog Devices, packaged in a 16-TSSOP. It routes three independent analog or digital signals, each through a single-pole double-throw configuration. On-resistance is 80 Ohm max, with channel-to-channel matching held to 1 Ohm — this keeps insertion loss uniform across all three paths, which matters when the switch sits in a gain-setting or filter-bank network.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Turn-on time is 200 ns max, turn-off 100 ns max — fast enough to multiplex sensor channels in a data-acquisition system scanning at a few hundred kHz without introducing timing skew between channels. Crosstalk is -73 dB at 1 MHz, meaning a 1 Vpp signal on one channel couples less than 0.2 mV into an adjacent off-channel — adequate for 10-bit accuracy in a multiplexed analog front-end. Charge injection is 0.5 pC typical — low enough that a sample-and-hold capacitor sees less than 0.5 mV glitch per 1 pF of hold capacitance, preserving the held voltage in precision acquisition. Leakage current in the off state is 1 nA max, and off-channel capacitance is 4 pF (source) / 6 pF (drain) — both parameters keep the off-channel from loading the active signal path at high impedance nodes.
