Signal integrity — crosstalk, charge injection, switching speed
The MAX4558ESE+: Crosstalk is rated at -93 dB at 100 kHz, meaning a signal on one channel couples into an off channel at roughly 22 µV per volt of signal — low enough for 12-bit audio or precision analog muxing where channel bleed must stay below the noise floor. Charge injection is 2.4 pC typical — the amount of charge dumped onto the load when the switch turns off. For a 10 pF sampling capacitor that translates to a 240 mV glitch; a downstream sample-and-hold needs to settle through this before the ADC conversion starts. Switching times are 150 ns on and 120 ns off maximum, with channel capacitance of 2.5 pF (source off) and 10 pF (drain off). The 1 nA max off-leakage keeps the DC error negligible in high-impedance circuits — a 10 MOhm source sees only 10 mV of offset from leakage.
