8:1 analog multiplexer for precision signal routing
The MAX4558CSE+ is an 8:1 analog multiplexer/demultiplexer in a 16-SOIC package. It routes one of eight inputs to a common output with a maximum on-resistance of 160 ohms and channel-to-channel matching of 2 ohms. It operates from a single supply of 2 V to 12 V or dual supplies of ±2 V to ±6 V. Crosstalk is -93 dB at 100 kHz. Charge injection is 2.4 pC typical. The part is rated for the commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C ambient). That makes it a fit for benchtop instruments, ATE, audio routing, and office-environment industrial controls — not for an outdoor telecom cabinet or an engine bay. Switching times (ton 150 ns, toff 120 ns max) are fast enough for audio-band and low-speed data multiplexing; for video or high-speed ADC front ends, look at the lower-Ron, faster MAX45xx family siblings.
Package and supply flexibility
The 16-SOIC (0.154", 3.90 mm) footprint is a standard surface-mount outline. The part ships in tubes. Off-leakage is 1 nA max.
Lifecycle and sourcing
No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window is in effect. The part is available through independent distribution and is quoted to order against an RFQ — current pricing and lead time confirmed at quote time.
