SPDT analog switch with 60 Ohm Ron and 2.7-12 V supply
The MAX4544EUA+T is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch configured as a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer, routing one of two inputs to a common output. The 60 Ohm max on-resistance sets the insertion loss floor — for a 10 kOhm load the voltage divider error is about 0.6 %, negligible for most signal paths but worth budgeting in precision divider networks. Switching completes in 100 ns on, 75 ns off, allowing multiplexing rates up to several megahertz before the settling window closes.
Charge injection and crosstalk for precision analog paths
Charge injection is 1 pC typical — when the switch opens, this charge couples onto the sampling capacitor in a sample-and-hold front end. For a 10 pF hold cap the resulting voltage step is 100 µV, which is below the LSB of a 12-bit ADC with a 2.5 V reference. Crosstalk measures -90 dB at 1 MHz, meaning the signal on one channel bleeds into the other at roughly 30 µV for a 1 V swing. This is adequate for separating audio or low-frequency analog channels on a mixed-signal board; for RF paths above 10 MHz the isolation degrades and a dedicated RF switch is preferred. Off-leakage current is 100 pA max at 25 °C, doubling roughly every 10 °C — at 85 °C it reaches about 1.6 nA, still low enough for high-impedance sensor interfaces without noticeable offset drift.
Supplied in an 8-uMAX/uSOP package (3.00 mm width, 0.118 inch pitch), the part fits into space-constrained layouts. The surface-mount footprint matches standard 8-MSOP land patterns; the 0.65 mm lead pitch is compatible with fine-pitch soldering profiles.
