Switch topology and supply flexibility
The MAX4534CSD+ is a single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) analog switch from Analog Devices, configured as a 4:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer. It routes one common I/O to any of four channels, making it a direct fit for signal-routing tasks in ATE, data-acquisition front-ends, and audio-path selection. That covers standard ±5 V, ±12 V, ±15 V rails and many industrial single-rail designs without a charge pump.
On-resistance and matching
Maximum on-resistance is 400 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching (ΔRon) of 2 Ohm typical. For a precision divider or gain-network switch, the matching figure keeps the insertion loss uniform across channels — important when the downstream ADC expects a stable source impedance. Off-leakage current is 500 pA max at 25 °C. Combined with 5 pF source-off and 6.5 pF drain-off capacitance, the switch presents a light load to the signal source when inactive — a consideration for high-impedance sensor inputs where leakage into the pA range matters.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Maximum turn-on time is 275 ns, turn-off 200 ns. That is fast enough for multiplexing audio bands or scanning sensor channels at sub-MHz rates. The 1 pC charge injection means the glitch energy injected into the signal path during switching is low — a relevant spec for sample-and-hold circuits where injected charge lands on the hold capacitor. Crosstalk is -53 dB at 1 MHz. In a 4:1 mux carrying separate analog signals, this isolation level prevents a driven channel from bleeding into an adjacent off channel at moderate frequencies. For higher-frequency RF paths, a dedicated RF switch would be needed, but for baseband audio or low-speed data acquisition, -53 dB is clean.
Package, temperature grade, and sourcing posture
Housed in a 14-lead SOIC (0.154" width, 3.90 mm body), supplier device package 14-SOIC. The surface-mount footprint is standard; no fine-pitch concerns. Lifecycle status is Active per Analog Devices, and the part is ROHS3 compliant. No NRND or EOL flags — this is a current-production device.
