The MAX4533EAP+ is a quad single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch from Analog Devices, packaged in a 20-SSOP (0.209", 5.30 mm width) surface-mount package. It routes four independent 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer channels, each with a break-before-make switching action. 175 Ohm on-resistance with 1 Ohm channel matching
Maximum on-resistance is 175 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 1 Ohm. The matching figure matters more than the absolute Ron in differential signal paths — a 1 Ohm delta between channels keeps the gain error below 0.01 % when driving a 10 kOhm load. Switching speeds are 250 ns max turn-on and 150 ns max turn-off. The asymmetric timing means the break-before-make gap is at least 100 ns, preventing momentary shorting of adjacent signal paths during channel transitions. Charge injection is 1.5 pC typical — low enough that a 10 pF hold capacitor sees a 150 mV glitch, which settles within the acquisition time of a 16-bit SAR ADC running at 100 kSPS. Off-leakage is 20 nA max, and off-capacitance is 5 pF per channel, keeping the signal attenuation below 0.1 dB at 1 MHz into a 50 Ohm load.
-66 dB crosstalk at 1 MHz
Crosstalk between channels is -66 dB at 1 MHz. In a quad-switch routing four analog signals, this means less than 0.05 % of one channel's signal couples into an adjacent off-channel — adequate for 12-bit systems and marginal for 16-bit at the top of the audio band.
