The MAX4529CUT+T is a single-pole single-throw (SPST) analog switch from Maxim Integrated, configured as a 1:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer with a single channel. It is specifically designed for video signal routing, where the 300 MHz -3 dB bandwidth ensures minimal attenuation of composite or component video signals up to high-definition resolutions. The switch uses a bi-directional, buffered T-switch topology, which maintains signal integrity in both directions and provides better isolation than a simple series FET at video frequencies. The 120 Ohm typical on-resistance is a design parameter for impedance matching in 75 Ohm or 50 Ohm video paths, not a pass-fail spec — the T-switch architecture absorbs the R_on into the termination network.
This dual-supply capability means the switch can handle ground-referenced video signals (e.g., composite video with a 0 V DC offset) without external DC-blocking capacitors, simplifying the BOM for AC-coupled or DC-coupled video paths.
