Dual SPDT analog switch with low charge injection
The MAX4528CPA+: Each of the two independent switches routes a common input to one of two outputs (or vice versa) under logic control. Maximum on-resistance is 110 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching guaranteed to 3 Ohm — the spread between the two switches stays tight, which matters when the signal path gain or offset must track across channels. Charge injection is rated at 1 pC typical. This is the charge dumped onto the analog bus when the switch turns off; at 1 pC into a 10 pF sampling capacitor the voltage glitch is about 100 mV, so the part suits sample-and-hold or DAC deglitcher stages where the transient must stay small.
Supply rails and signal range
Operates from a single supply of 2.7 V to 12 V or from dual supplies of ±2.7 V to ±6 V. Dual-rail mode lets the switch handle bipolar signals symmetrically around ground — useful for audio or instrumentation paths where the signal swings negative. Off-channel leakage current is 500 pA maximum, and the off-channel capacitance (CS(off), CD(off)) is 13 pF. The leakage floor limits the DC error in high-impedance circuits; the capacitance defines the feedthrough at high frequency. Temperature range is 0°C to 70°C ambient — a commercial-grade window suited to bench equipment, lab instruments, or indoor control boards where the enclosure does not see extreme heat or cold.
Package, mounting, and compliance
Housed in an 8-pin DIP (0.300-inch row spacing, 7.62 mm body width) with through-hole leads. The supplier device package is 8-PDIP. Mounts directly into a standard DIP socket or solders into plated through-holes on a PCB — no reflow profile needed, hand-solder friendly. Shipped in tubes. RoHS3 compliant per the manufacturer's declaration — no restricted substances above the threshold limits.
Lifecycle and supply posture
The part is not held in ready inventory — each procurement is qualified per the customer's lot requirements.
