Precision analog switching with low crosstalk and charge injection
The MAX4523EUE+ is a quad SPST analog switch from Analog Devices, with independent normally-open and normally-closed channels per circuit. Its 100 Ohm max on-resistance and 1 Ohm channel-to-channel matching make it suited for precision signal routing in test and measurement, data acquisition, and audio switching where consistent attenuation across channels matters. Crosstalk is rated at -90 dB at 100 kHz, meaning adjacent channels stay isolated by a factor of 30,000 — critical when multiplexing low-level analog signals without bleed-through. Charge injection is just 1 pC, so the switching glitch on a sample-and-hold capacitor is negligible for 12-bit and most 16-bit ADC front-ends. Switching speed of 80 ns turn-on and 30 ns turn-off supports fast channel scanning in multiplexed systems without introducing timing skew.
Supply rail flexibility and board integration
Operates from a single supply of 2 V to 12 V or dual supplies of ±2 V to ±6 V, allowing the same part to work in battery-powered 3.3 V systems or ±5 V analog signal chains. Off-channel leakage is a maximum of 1 nA, and channel capacitance is 2 pF on both source and drain pins — these specs keep the signal path high-impedance and preserve bandwidth in precision analog multiplexing.
