SP4T analog switch for precision signal routing
The Maxim Integrated MAX4518CEE+ is a single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) analog switch that also functions as a 4:1 multiplexer or 1:4 demultiplexer. It routes one common I/O to any of four independent channels with a maximum on-resistance of 100 Ohm and channel-to-channel matching held to 4 Ohm max — tight enough to keep gain errors consistent across a multichannel data-acquisition front end. Supply covers single-rail designs from 2V to 15V or split-rail analog systems at ±2.7V to ±8V. Crosstalk is rated at -92 dB at 100 kHz, so multiplexing low-level sensor signals or audio paths sees minimal bleed-through between selected and deselected channels. Charge injection is 5 pC max, relevant when the switch drives a sample-and-hold capacitor or a high-impedance ADC input. The part is rated for the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C — suitable for benchtop instrumentation, ATE, audio routing, and general-purpose analog muxing inside conditioned environments. Not specified for industrial or automotive extended-temperature use.
Package and footprint
Housed in a 16-pin SSOP (0.154", 3.90 mm width) and also specified with the supplier device package as 16-QSOP. Surface-mount only. The shipping form is Tube — if your pick-and-place line expects Tape & Reel, confirm the reel option or plan a tube-to-tape transfer.
Active lifecycle — no end-of-life watch needed
Status is Active per the manufacturer. ROHS3 compliant. For a BOM freeze or a new-design qualification, this part does not carry an imminent obsolescence flag.
