Product details

Switch it without the pop

The MAX4515EPA+ is a single-pole single-throw normally-closed (SPST-NC) analog switch from Analog Devices, built to route low-level signals with minimal disturbance. Its 20 Ohm max on-resistance stays flat across the 2V to 12V single-supply range, so the insertion loss you measure at 3.3V is the same at 5V — no gain recalibration when the rail drifts. Charge injection is rated at just 2pC, which means the glitch dumped onto the signal line when the switch opens is small enough that a 100pF sample-and-hold cap sees only a 20mV step — no need for a separate compensation network in precision acquisition chains. Switching times are 150ns on, 100ns off max, fast enough for multiplexing audio or low-speed data without missing edges. The 1nA max off-leakage keeps the signal path clean even at 85°C.

Through-hole for the bench and beyond

Housed in an 8-pin DIP (0.300" body, 7.62mm pitch), the MAX4515EPA+ is a through-hole part — no hot-air station needed. A standard IC socket or a soldering iron with a fine tip handles the swap on a bench or in the field. The pinout is unambiguous: the normally-closed switch connects between the COM and NO pins, and the logic-level control pin toggles it open. The 14pF off-capacitance on both sides means it loads the line lightly, preserving bandwidth in audio or low-frequency analog paths.

Active and straight to order

Supplied in tubes, the part is standard through-hole inventory.
