8:1 multiplexer with wide supply range
The MAX4508ESE+ is a single 8-channel CMOS analog multiplexer (8:1 MUX/DEMUX) in a 16-SOIC package. It routes one of eight inputs to a common output, controlled by a 3-bit address — a standard building block for data-acquisition front-ends, test equipment, and signal routing.
What the key specs mean for your signal chain
Channel-to-channel matching of 15 Ohm max means the resistance varies by up to 15 Ohm between channels — something to budget for if gain accuracy across channels is critical. Switching times of 275 ns (ton) and 200 ns (toff) let it keep up with moderate-speed multiplexing — think scanning sensor arrays at tens of kHz, not video-rate switching. Crosstalk of -62 dB at 1 MHz tells you how much of one channel leaks into another at that frequency — decent isolation for audio-band or low-frequency analog signals, but for precision DC measurements the leakage is negligible. Charge injection of 2 pC is the glitch the switch dumps onto the signal line when it toggles — low enough that a sample-and-hold or ADC input won't see a significant voltage step if the source impedance is modest.
