Signal-path switch for precision analog
The MAX4501EXK+T is a single-pole single-throw (SPST) normally-open analog switch from Analog Devices, configured as a 1:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer. It routes one signal path through a 250 Ohm maximum on-resistance channel, making it suited for low-frequency analog or digital signal gating in battery-powered instruments.
Parametric so-what for the BOM
Charge injection is rated at just 1 pC — low enough that sampling a 100 pF hold capacitor shifts the stored voltage by under 10 mV, preserving accuracy in a track-and-hold front-end. Off-leakage current maxes at 1 nA, so the switch does not bleed charge into a high-impedance node during the hold interval. Switching times are 75 ns on, 50 ns off — fast enough to gate audio-rate signals or multiplex sensor channels at tens of kilohertz without introducing aperture error. Channel capacitance on either side is 3 pF, which loads the signal line by about 6 pF total when the switch is off.
Housed in a 5-lead SC-70-5 (SOT-353) package, the part occupies roughly 2 mm × 2.1 mm of board area. The surface-mount footprint matches the standard SC-70 land pattern — no fine-pitch challenges.
