Ultra-low-power op-amp for battery- and loop-powered sensor interfaces
The Analog Devices MAX4470EXK+T is a single-channel, general-purpose operational amplifier that draws 750 nA of supply current while delivering a 9 kHz gain-bandwidth product.
9 kHz GBW at 750 nA — the trade-off that decides the application
The 9 kHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.002 V/µs slew rate tell you this is not a part for audio or high-speed data acquisition. It is sized for sub-1 kHz signal paths — filtering, buffering, and amplification of transducer outputs where the signal bandwidth is tens to a few hundred hertz. The 36 mA output current per channel is generous for an op-amp running at these supply levels; it can drive a modest ADC input or a reference buffer without struggling. The 1.8 V to 5.5 V supply span covers single lithium-ion cells down to their end-of-discharge voltage and dual alkaline cells, which simplifies power-rail design in portable instruments.
Active lifecycle — no LTB risk for new designs
It is also ROHS3 compliant. For a BOM line that needs a proven ultra-low-power amplifier, this part does not carry the sourcing risk of a phase-out part.
Industrial temperature range and surface-mount package
Rated for -40°C to 85°C, the MAX4470EXK+T covers the industrial temperature envelope — outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor sensor modules, and HVAC controllers. The SC-70-5 package is a 5-lead surface-mount footprint that fits on dense PCBs alongside passives and small microcontrollers.
