Switching-speed and drive-current fit for power-stage gate drive
The MAX4426CPA+: With 1.5 A peak output and 20 ns edges, this driver charges the MOSFET gate capacitance fast enough to keep switching losses low in converters operating up to several hundred kilohertz — the exact frequency ceiling depends on the total gate charge of the driven FET. The independent dual-channel configuration means each output can drive a separate MOSFET, or both channels can be paralleled for higher peak current into a single larger device, provided the thermal limits of the DIP package are respected.
