Quad current-sense amplifier in a compact 14-TSSOP
The MAX4378HAUD+ is a quad current-sense amplifier in a 14-TSSOP package. It monitors current on up to four independent rails. Supply span is 3 V to 28 V, bandwidth 2 MHz, slew rate 10 V/µs, temperature range -40°C to 125°C.
Supply voltage range and power budget
Minimum supply is 3 V, maximum 28 V. Each channel draws 1 mA supply current, total 4 mA.
Bandwidth and response time
The 2 MHz -3 dB bandwidth supports current monitoring in switching regulators switching at a few hundred kilohertz, where the sense amplifier must track the inductor current waveform. The 10 V/µs slew rate ensures the output can swing quickly when a fault current appears, which matters for overcurrent detection circuits that need to trigger a shutdown within a few microseconds.
