The MAX4377FASA+ is an active-production dual current-sense amplifier from Analog Devices in an 8-SOIC package. It integrates two independent current-sense channels, each drawing 1 mA supply current, making it suitable for monitoring multiple power rails in a single IC.
Bandwidth and slew rate for transient capture
With a 2 MHz -3 dB bandwidth and 10 V/µs slew rate, the MAX4377FASA+ tracks fast current transients — useful for detecting short-circuit events or load-step response in power converters. The 120 µA input bias current is typical for a sense amplifier and sets a floor on the minimum detectable shunt voltage.
SOIC-8 rework and layout
The 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm width) is hand-reworkable with a hot-air station — the leads are visible and accessible for inspection. Pin 1 is clearly marked on the package body, so orientation is straightforward under a microscope. The surface-mount footprint mates with standard SOIC-8 land patterns.
