The Maxim MAX4314ESD+ is a 4:1 multiplexer-amplifier combining a four-input analog mux with a rail-to-rail output amplifier in a single 14-SOIC package. The rail-to-rail output stage maximizes dynamic range on a single 4 V to 10.5 V supply or dual ±2 V to ±5.25 V rails.
The 127 MHz -3 dB bandwidth supports composite video (NTSC/PAL) and high-resolution graphics up to XGA without significant amplitude roll-off. The 430 V/µs slew rate preserves fast edge transitions, so a multiplexed 5 Vpp step settles cleanly rather than slewing into a linear ramp. Together these specs mean the part handles pixel-clock rates into the tens of megahertz without introducing visible smear or timing skew.
Supply flexibility and output drive
The 4 V to 10.5 V single-supply range lets it run from a 5 V logic rail or a 9 V battery, while the ±2 V to ±5.25 V dual-supply option suits split-rail analog front ends. Quiescent current is 6.9 mA, and each output channel can deliver 95 mA — enough to drive a 75 Ω video line directly or feed the input of a subsequent ADC.
