8:1 mux plus programmable gain in one channel
The MAX4312EEE+ is a single-circuit 8:1 multiplexer-amplifier from Analog Devices that combines an eight-input analog multiplexer with a high-speed voltage-feedback amplifier in one 16-QSOP package. It is designed for applications where multiple signal sources must be selected and conditioned through a single gain stage — video routing, data acquisition front-ends, and test equipment channel muxing. The -3dB bandwidth of 265 MHz and slew rate of 345V/µs mean the part preserves signal integrity for composite video (NTSC/PAL at ~5 MHz) and high-speed analog signals up to the VHF range, while the rail-to-rail output allows the full supply swing to be used without headroom loss — critical when running from a single 5V rail.
Supply flexibility and output drive
The 7.4 mA quiescent supply current is modest for a 265 MHz amplifier, keeping the thermal rise low in the compact QSOP package. Each output channel can deliver 95 mA — enough to drive a 75Ω video cable directly or charge the sampling capacitor of a high-speed ADC without an additional buffer stage. The rail-to-rail output stage maintains linearity close to the supply rails, which matters when the signal swing occupies most of the available voltage range.
