600 MHz current-feedback amp — what the slew rate means on the bench
The MAX4227ESA+ is a dual-channel current-feedback operational amplifier with a 600 MHz -3dB bandwidth and a 1700 V/µs slew rate — that combination means it slews through a 2 Vpp output step in roughly 1.2 ns, so the bandwidth holds up even on fast edges where a voltage-feedback amp would roll off. Each channel draws 6 mA supply current, so the total quiescent for the dual package is 12 mA — low enough that the 8-SOIC copper pad can dissipate the heat without airflow in a 85°C ambient. Supply span runs from 5.7 V to 11 V, which covers standard 5 V and 10 V rails with headroom; the 80 mA output per channel drives 50-ohm back-terminated lines or the input of a high-speed ADC directly.
