What this switch does and where it fits
The MAX4053CEE+ from Maxim Integrated is a triple SPDT analog switch — three independent 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer circuits in a single 16-QSOP package. Each switch connects one common terminal to one of two signal paths, with a break-before-make action typical of this family. The on-resistance is 100 Ohm max, and the channel-to-channel matching holds to 12 Ohm max, so the insertion loss across the three switches stays consistent. Switching is fast: 175 ns turn-on, 150 ns turn-off. Signal integrity is clean: crosstalk at 100 kHz is -90 dB, and charge injection is just 2 pC. The supply range covers single 2 V to 16 V or dual ±2.7 V to ±8 V, making it flexible for either single-rail or split-rail analog front ends. The operating temperature is 0°C to 70°C — commercial grade, so it's intended for indoor, non-automotive, non-industrial-extended environments like test equipment, audio routing, or data-acquisition systems.
100 Ohm on-resistance — what it means for your signal path
100 Ohm is a moderate on-resistance for an analog switch. The 12 Ohm channel-to-channel matching keeps gain error between channels small.
