Signal routing with -90 dB crosstalk isolation
The MAX4053AEEE+T is a triple SPDT (single-pole double-throw) analog switch from Analog Devices, configured as a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer per channel. With a 100Ω maximum on-state resistance and 6Ω max channel-to-channel matching, it maintains signal fidelity across the three independent circuits. The -90 dB crosstalk at 100 kHz means a signal on one channel couples into an adjacent channel at roughly 30 µV for a 1 V swing — well below the noise floor of a 12-bit ADC at full scale. This makes the part suitable for precision analog multiplexing where channel bleed-through would corrupt the measurement.
Supply flexibility and switching performance
Single-supply operation spans 2 V to 16 V, while dual supplies run from ±2.7 V to ±8 V. The 175 ns turn-on and 150 ns turn-off times (max) set the channel-switching ceiling — at 1 MHz the output settles to within 0.1% of final value in under one switching cycle, given the 2 pF source/drain capacitance. Charge injection of 2 pC means each switching event dumps 2 pC of charge onto the signal node. In a 10 kΩ source impedance, this translates to a 20 µV glitch — negligible for most audio and instrumentation paths, but worth a bypass cap at the output if the downstream load is a high-impedance ADC input. Leakage current is 100 pA max per switch when off, and the off-capacitance is 2 pF on both source and drain sides. At 10 kHz into a 100 kΩ load, the leakage-induced offset is under 10 µV — the capacitance dominates the feedthrough above 1 MHz.
