Dual 4:1 switch with -90 dB isolation at 100 kHz
The MAX4052AEEE+ is a dual SP4T (single-pole, four-throw) analog multiplexer/demultiplexer from Analog Devices, routing one of four differential inputs to a common output per channel. Two independent 4:1 circuits sit in a single 16-QSOP package, each with a break-before-make switching action that prevents momentary shorting between channels during transition.
100 Ohm Ron and 2 pC charge injection
Maximum on-resistance is 100 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 6 Ohm max — this keeps the attenuation uniform across all four paths in a precision analog front-end. Charge injection is 2 pC typical, a figure that matters when the switch drives a sampling capacitor: each closure injects a fixed charge packet that appears as a DC offset in the sampled voltage unless cancelled by differential architecture or post-switch filtering. Off-leakage current is 100 pA max at 25 °C, so the switch does not load the signal source when deselected — relevant for high-impedance sensor inputs where nanoamp-level leakage would shift the bias point.
Supply range and switching speed
Single-supply operation covers 2 V to 16 V; dual supplies span ±2.7 V to ±8 V. Turn-on time is 175 ns max, turn-off 150 ns max — fast enough to switch audio-rate signals or update a multiplexed ADC input at 1 Msps without introducing settling errors.
