200 MHz bandwidth, 600 V/µs slew rate — where this op-amp fits
The Maxim Integrated MAX4012EUK+T is a single voltage-feedback op-amp in a SOT-23-5 package, delivering 200 MHz -3dB bandwidth and 600 V/µs slew rate. These two specs together tell you this part is built for signal chains that need to preserve fast edges and wide frequency content — think video buffering, ADC front-end drivers, or high-speed photodiode amplifiers where the pulse shape matters. The rail-to-rail output stage lets it swing close to the supply rails, useful when running from a single 3.3 V or 5 V rail and you need every millivolt of headroom. Supply span runs from 3.15 V to 11 V, so it fits on a 3.3 V, 5 V, or even a 9 V rail without a separate regulator.
Supply voltage and output drive — sizing the rail and load
Minimum supply is 3.15 V, maximum is 11 V — that 3.15 V floor means it can run from a nominal 3.3 V rail with about 150 mV of margin before the part drops out of regulation. At 5.5 mA supply current per channel, the quiescent draw is modest for a 200 MHz amplifier; the 120 mA output current per channel gives it enough drive to handle a standard 75 Ω video load or a moderate ADC input. The 5.4 µA input bias current and 4 mV input offset voltage are typical for a high-speed voltage-feedback topology — fine for AC-coupled paths, but if you need sub-mV DC accuracy, a precision op-amp in a slower family would be the better call.
Package and temperature grade — board-level fit
Housed in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package, surface-mount only. The -40°C to 85°C operating range covers industrial environments — motor drives, outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor sensors — but stops short of the full automotive temperature range. If the board lives under the hood or in a downhole tool, you would need to look at a wider-temperature variant. The SOT-23-5 footprint is common and easy to route; the single-channel layout keeps the feedback loop short, which helps maintain the 200 MHz bandwidth without oscillation.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
That means you can qualify it into a new design without worrying about an imminent obsolescence-driven respin. The part is available in Tape & Reel or Cut Tape options for the SOT-23-5 package.
