Comparator with on-chip reference for threshold sensing
The MAX40001ANT12+T is a single comparator that integrates a voltage reference on-chip, eliminating the need for an external reference resistor divider in threshold-detection circuits. Quiescent current is 1.7 µA maximum, making this part suitable for always-on sensor monitors in battery-powered equipment where every microamp counts.
Built-in 2.5 mV hysteresis prevents output chatter when the input signal sits near the threshold — no external positive-feedback resistors are needed. Typical propagation delay of 14 µs sets the response time for over-voltage or under-voltage detection — fast enough for most power-good and battery-monitor loops but not for high-speed PWM fault latching. Input offset voltage is trimmed to 8 mV maximum, and input bias current is 5 nA maximum, so the threshold accuracy is dominated by the integrated reference tolerance rather than the comparator front-end. Common-mode rejection is 46 dB minimum and power-supply rejection is 60 dB minimum, meaning the threshold stays stable even when the battery voltage droops under load.
The 6-bump WLP package measures 1.08 x 0.73 mm — the footprint is smaller than a 0402 resistor, so it fits into the tightest sensor modules or wearable PCBs. Surface-mount assembly with standard lead-free reflow profiles; the WLP bumps are the only terminations, so the board layout must match the 0.4 mm pitch ball map from the datasheet.
