16:1 mux with 100 Ohm Ron and 150 ns switching
The MAX396EWI+T is a single 16:1 analog multiplexer from Analog Devices, routing one of sixteen inputs to a common output through a 100 Ohm max on-resistance path. Switching is symmetrical at 150 ns for both turn-on and turn-off, which matters for fast-scanning data acquisition or audio routing where channel-to-channel timing consistency is needed. Crosstalk is rated at -92 dB at 100 kHz, so a signal on one channel couples weakly into the others — useful for precision analog multiplexing where adjacent channel bleed would corrupt a measurement.
Supply rails and signal handling
Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is 1.8 Ohm max, which keeps the gain error consistent across all sixteen channels in a multiplexed front-end. Charge injection is 2 pC typical — low enough that the voltage glitch on a high-impedance sample-and-hold cap settles quickly without an extra buffer stage. Off-channel leakage is 100 pA max, and the off capacitance on the drain side is 80 pF, so the multiplexer loads the signal source lightly when deselected.
Temperature range and package
Housed in a 28-pin SOIC wide-body (0.295-inch width, 7.50 mm), the package is a standard reflow-friendly footprint with 1.27 mm pitch — easy to inspect and rework with a hot-air station if needed. Available on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape, the part is ready for both prototype hand-assembly and volume pick-and-place.
