3.2 Gbps laser diode driver for SFP/GBIC modules
The Maxim Integrated MAX3736ETE+ is a single-channel laser diode driver rated for 3.2 Gbps data rates, designed for fiber optic transceiver modules in SFP, SFF, and GBIC form factors. It delivers up to 100 mA bias current and 85 mA modulation current to drive a laser diode, with the supply rail held at 2.97 V to 3.63 V.
16-TQFN package — rework and footprint notes
The MAX3736ETE+ comes in a 16-TQFN (3x3 mm) package with an exposed pad. That exposed pad is the thermal and electrical ground — it must be soldered to a copper plane on the PCB for both heat sinking and low-inductance return.
