Dual SP4T analog switch in a 16-SOIC footprint
The Maxim MAX355CWE+ integrates two independent SP4T (single-pole, four-throw) switches in a single 16-SOIC package. Each switch routes one common terminal to any of four channels, giving you a 4:1 multiplexer per circuit. The 350 Ohm max on-resistance sets the series impedance for the analog path — factor it into your signal attenuation budget and settling time calculations. Supply flexibility is the headline here: single rail from 4.5V to 36V or dual rails from ±4.5V to ±18V. That covers 5V, 12V, 15V, and ±15V industrial supplies without extra regulators. The 0°C to 70°C temperature grade suits controlled indoor environments — instrumentation racks, bench test gear, or audio consoles. Crosstalk is -92 dB at 100 kHz. Charge injection is 80 pC.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Maximum turn-on time is 250 ns, turn-off 200 ns. That's fast enough for audio crosspoint switching, relay-replacement in ATE, or analog front-end channel scanning below 2 MHz. Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is 7 Ohm max — useful when gain matching matters across mux channels. Off-leakage current is 500 pA max, and off-channel capacitance is 1.6 pF (source) / 5 pF (drain). Low leakage preserves accuracy in high-impedance sensor muxing; the capacitance values matter for AC settling — pair with a buffer if you're switching fast signals into a high-impedance load.
