Dual-supply level translation, 4-bit bidirectional

The MAX3395EETC+T is a 4-channel bidirectional voltage level translator from Analog Devices, packaged in a 12-TQFN (4x4 mm) with exposed pad. It handles translation between two supply domains: VCCA from 1.2 V to 5.5 V and VCCB from 1.65 V to 5.5 V. Rated for 6 Mbps data rate, the part supports open-drain, push-pull, or tri-state output configurations on both sides, with auto-direction sensing that eliminates the need for a direction control pin.

Supply rails and signal integrity

The 6 Mbps data rate is the ceiling for push-pull mode; open-drain operation with pull-up resistors will typically run slower depending on bus capacitance and pull-up value. Integrated thermal-shutdown protection and power-supply decoupling on-chip reduce external component count. The auto-direction sensing means the translator can sit on an I²C or SMBus line without a separate direction GPIO.
