Product details

Supply rails and translation range

The MAX3393EEUD+: No external regulator is needed to match the two sides.

Data rate and output drive

Rated for 16 Mbps — the propagation delay and output rise time into the load capacitance set the actual bus speed ceiling. Open-drain outputs with tri-state let multiple translators share a common bus line; the external pull-up resistor value determines the rise time and must be selected for the target data rate. Each of the four channels is unidirectional — the direction is fixed per channel, unlike a bidirectional I2C level shifter. Assign the input and output sides during layout; swapping them in-circuit will not translate.

Package, temperature grade, and protection

The supplier device package is 14-TSSOP, surface-mount. Integrated power-supply decoupling and thermal-shutdown protection reduce external component count and guard against output shorts.
