Supply-voltage domain bridging
Unidirectional channel type with four channels per circuit — the direction is fixed, so the BOM planner assigns one MAX3392EEUD+T per voltage-domain pair and does not waste channels on bidirectional lines that need a different translator. Open-drain, tri-state outputs on the B side let multiple translators share a common bus without contention — the pull-up resistor value sets the rise time, and the 16 Mbps data rate is achievable with a 1 kΩ to 10 kΩ pull-up depending on the bus capacitance.
Integrated power-supply decoupling and thermal-shutdown protection reduce external component count — the part monitors its own junction temperature and shuts down before damage, which simplifies the qualification test plan for the board-level thermal profile.
