Level-translation window and bus-speed ceiling
The MAX3379EEUD+ translates logic levels between two supply domains: VCCA from 1.2 V to 5.5 V and VCCB from 1.65 V to 5.5 V. The 16 Mbps data rate sets the bus-speed ceiling — a SPI or UART link running at 10 Mbps has margin, but a 20 Mbps interface will miss edges unless the downstream load capacitance is kept under 15 pF per trace. It is a unidirectional 4-channel device with one circuit per channel — the direction is fixed by the supply assignment, so VCCA-side signals drive VCCB-side outputs. Open-drain and tri-state outputs mean the bus requires external pull-up resistors to VCCB; the value depends on the rise-time budget at 16 Mbps.
Package, footprint, and board-fit
The supplier device package is 14-TSSOP, so the land pattern matches the JEDEC MO-153 variation. Shipped in tube — not tape-and-reel. For automated pick-and-place, the tube must be loaded into a tube feeder or the parts transferred to a carrier tape. Verify the feeder compatibility before scheduling the line.

On-chip features that reduce external BOM
Integrated power-supply decoupling and thermal-shutdown protection reduce the external component count — no separate decoupling cap on the VCCA rail if the board layout keeps the trace short, and the thermal shutdown protects against a stalled bus or shorted output without a series resistor.
