CANbus physical-layer interface for 2 Mbps lines
The MAX33054EASA+T is a half-duplex CAN transceiver from Analog Devices, designed to serve as the physical-layer interface between a CAN protocol controller and the differential bus. It supports data rates up to 2 Mbps, which covers both classic CAN (up to 1 Mbps) and CAN FD arbitration phases at higher bit rates.
Receiver hysteresis and bus noise margin
The receiver hysteresis is specified at 90 mV, which sets the differential input threshold separation between the recessive and dominant states. This hysteresis band filters out bus noise and ringing that could otherwise cause bit errors on long stubs or in electrically noisy environments — a practical margin for industrial backplanes or automotive harnesses where common-mode transients are common.
Surface-mount assembly with tape-and-reel or cut-tape options suits both prototyping and volume production.
