Dual SPST analog switch in 8-SOIC — what the specs mean for your signal path
The Maxim MAX325ESA+ is a dual SPST analog switch with independently controlled normally-open and normally-closed channels, packaged in an 8-SOIC. Each switch presents a maximum on-resistance of 60 ohms, with channel-to-channel matching held to 800 milliohms. Switching speed is 150 ns turn-on, 100 ns turn-off — fast enough for 1 MHz analog multiplexing or audio muting without audible pop. Off-leakage is a maximum 100 pA, and charge injection is 1 pC, both specs that keep the switch from corrupting a sample-and-hold or precision integrator. Crosstalk is rated at -85 dB at 1 MHz, which means the two channels stay isolated well enough for stereo audio or dual-channel data acquisition without bleed-through. The industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) covers factory-floor and outdoor telecom enclosures.
Package and mounting — 8-SOIC with a 3.90 mm body width
The MAX325ESA+ comes in an 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm body width, 0.154" pitch) and is specified for surface-mount assembly. The supplier device package is also 8-SOIC, so the footprint is standard SOIC-8 — no exotic land pattern needed.
Lifecycle — still in active production
The MAX325ESA+ carries an Active product status with ROHS3 compliance.
