Dual SPST analog switch in a through-hole DIP
The MAX325CPA+ from Maxim Integrated is a dual single-pole single-throw analog switch with independently controlled SPST-NO and SPST-NC sections, housed in a 0.300-inch 8-pin DIP for through-hole assembly. Each switch presents a maximum on-resistance of 60 Ohm and supports a single-supply range from 2.7 V to 16 V, making it suitable for general-purpose analog signal routing in test equipment, data-acquisition front ends, and audio path switching where the supply rail is already established. The part switches in 150 ns (ton) and 100 ns (toff) — fast enough for audio-band multiplexing and low-speed data, but not intended for RF or video.
Channel isolation and charge injection
Crosstalk between channels is specified at -85 dB at 1 MHz, which gives the designer confidence that a signal on one switch leg will not bleed appreciably into the other channel at audio frequencies. Charge injection is rated at 1 pC — low enough that a downstream sample-and-hold or high-impedance ADC input will not see a significant glitch from the switch transition. Off-channel leakage is a maximum of 100 pA, and channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is within 800 mOhm, both useful for maintaining accuracy in ratiometric or matched-path applications.
Operating range and package fit
Rated for the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, the MAX325CPA+ is intended for indoor, bench-top, or controlled-environment equipment — not automotive or extended-industrial use. The 8-DIP (7.62 mm body width) and through-hole mounting suit prototyping, socketed designs, or legacy board retrofits where surface-mount rework is impractical. The part ships in tubes, consistent with through-hole handling in low-to-medium volume production.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant.
