RS232 interface with 3V to 5.5V supply flexibility
The MAX3244EEWI+ is an RS232 transceiver from Analog Devices, operating from a 3V to 5.5V supply range. It integrates three drivers and five receivers in a full-duplex configuration, handling data rates up to 250kbps across the RS232 protocol. The 500 mV receiver hysteresis provides noise immunity on the serial lines, important when routing RS232 alongside switching power rails in a mixed-signal board.

Surface-mount assembly with a standard SOIC footprint — the 1.27 mm pitch is board-friendly and inspectable without X-ray. Supplied in tube format. The wide SOIC body gives better thermal dissipation than the narrow version for a transceiver that may be driving multiple RS232 lines simultaneously.
